Institutional Evaluation Programme (IEP)
The Institutional Evaluation Programme (IEP) is an independent membership service of the European University Association (EUA) that has been designed to support the participating institutions in the continuing development of their strategic management and internal quality culture.
So far, around 300 evaluations have been conducted in 45 countries in Europe and worldwide, making the IEP methodology one of the best and most widely tested among international evaluation programmes currently available to universities in Europe.
IEP evaluates higher education institutions in the context of their own goals and objectives and actively supports them in fulfilling their mission. IEP evaluation is a voluntary process for the participating institutions; it is independent from governments and other authorities. It does not lead to accreditation nor does it make any kind of summative judgement.
In addition to evaluating individual HEIs upon their request, IEP conducts coordinated evaluations at national or regional level on request of local stakeholders in higher education (ministries, national rectors’ conferences, NGOs).
The Institutional Evaluation Programme (IEP) is a full member of ENQA (the European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education) and is listed in EQAR (the European Quality Assurance Register for Higher Education).
