Call for Papers: 8th World Economy Research Institute’s annual conference, Warsaw School of Economics, Warsaw, Poland (6-7 June 2013)

The World Economy Research Institute at the Warsaw School of Economics is holding its 8th annual conference from 6 to 7 June under the title “Fostering innovation and competitiveness in the EU at national and regional level”.
The conference aims to gather international researchers to discuss recent empirical and theoretical findings in the field of economics of competitiveness and innovation. In addition, the conference will focus on policy implications of recent research.

Paper submissions are particularly invited on the following topics:
interrelations between competitiveness, economic growth and economic policy on regional and national levels in the light of the second wave of the financial crisis;
transfer of knowledge between enterprises and research institutions;
innovation policy and institutional instruments of fostering innovation with the focus on EU member states and their regions;
clustering and its influence on creating the competitiveness and innovation capacity of European regions; national and regional innovation systems.
